Back to Residential Care

Residential care for children and young people.

Shian is an immaculately presented and thoughtfully designed detached family house in a fabulous rural location on the outskirts of Balfron.

The property has recently been renovated to a very high standard and offers five generous double bedrooms, one en-suite. There is variety of communal areas which allows plenty of space for young people aged 10-18 to relax or be involved in ongoing activities within the house.

Spark of Genius Residential Care for Children and Young People. We promote a safe, nurturing and loving environment by using an unconditional positive regard approach at all times which empowers our young people to feel confident within themselves and society. We encourage a strong safeguarding culture where young people are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible. The staff team at Shian are ambitious for the young people in our care and are committed to supporting them through the tough times, whilst also recognising and celebrating their achievements.

We are also realistic about the progress our young people make and plan their care to make incremental steps toward better days and better lives. Partnership is key to achieve these goals and we liaise with a wide range of agencies and organisations.

The house extends to over 2,800 square feet and sits in over 1 acre of garden bordering Balfron Golf Club. Shian sits in an open plot taking full advantage of both winter and summer sunshine with the most breath taking views of Ben Lomond and the Trossachs. The garden takes full advantage of the surrounding countryside and is a private haven and playground for young people to explore and experience nature and some of the local wildlife.

The local village of Balfron is almost equidistant from both Stirling and Glasgow and is situated near Endrick Water on the A875 road, 18 miles west of Stirling and 16 miles north of Glasgow. Although a rural settlement, it lies within commuting distance of Glasgow, and serves as a dormitory town.
