Residential Child Care Worker with Specific Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for 2 Residential Child Care Workers with Specific Responsibilities to provide support to an individual young person with additional support needs between our Residential House in Dalry and our Caledonian School campus to ensure their physical developmental, social and emotional needs are met. The post holder will demonstrate an understanding of appropriate intervention strategies and resources that support specific impairments that affect a child’s development. To work between the house and school to promote collaborative working and effective links to provide structure, consistency and routines that support the individual young person in line with SHANARRI wellbeing indicators and other frameworks.

Residential Child Care Worker – Fixed Term Contract (9 months)

We are currently recruiting for a Residential Child Care Worker on a Fixed Term Contract Basis for 9 months for one of our Residential services in Dalry, Ayrshire.

Applicants should be committed individuals with the ability to provide an inclusive, inspiring, living environment for our young people. The position will involve working with small groups of young people aged 8-18, experiencing a variety of complex needs/parenting experiences. Candidates must have the experience or transferable skills for this role as well as an understanding of working with complex needs. Ideally candidates would have experience of Residential Care and/or Social Work although if you do not necessarily have the experience for the role, however, have the passion for working with our young people and feel you have transferable skills and qualities to do so, we would like to hear from you.

Relevant qualifications are not essential to start, however there is a requirement set by the SSSC to gain the relevant qualification/s within 3 years.

Residential Manager
Dunoon PA23 8EE

We are currently looking for an experienced Residential Manager, with a passion for making a difference to young people’s lives, in one of our established residential houses in Dunoon. In this role you will assume overall responsibility for all aspects of the house supported by the Assistant Manager and Senior Practitioner/s. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will ensure a high standard of practice in line with internal and external expectations, standards and legislation. You will ensure the effective and efficient running of the service, including ensuring staff engagement, development and performance in their contribution to delivery of this service. The successful candidate will have had managerial experience in a promoted role supporting children and young people in a residential environment. You will ideally possess or be working towards a Diploma in Social work or equivalent, SVQ Level 4 in Care plus any management qualification at SCQF level 8 or above. You will be required to lead and manage a team of care workers, develop and support family and community relationships, and work collaboratively with all professional agencies. The successful candidate will be required to register and maintain an appropriate registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.

Salary: £33,910.00 to £37,102.00 /year

Assistant Manager

Job Description

 Spark of Genius operates small therapeutic residential homes for young people with Social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in Stillington, Thorpe Thewles and Hartburn. We also educate young people who cannot sustain a mainstream   educational placement. In this, we employ a 24-hour approach to the curriculum, providing continual support and guidance for our young people.

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Residential Manager who will support the Residential Managers in the efficient running of the residential home. You will largely be responsible for assisting the Residential Manager in the efficient   operational management of the house as well as providing excellent care to the children and young people. The Assistant Manager will have responsibility for managing a team of staff therefore; you must be experienced in motivating and   providing support to colleagues when necessary.

You must have the ability to set, monitor and meet key performance indicators, which are also an essential part of this role. You must have significant experience and be confident of providing exceptional care and support to enhance the residential experiences of vulnerable young people.
