Spark of Genius Education Services, Skypoint School Holidays 2016/17

Skypoint School was officially opened in October 2015 after moving from our previous location in Drumchapel, Glasgow.

The newly developed facility has been carefully designed to suit the needs of primary and secondary aged pupils with a variety of complex educational social, emotional and behavioural needs.

The building is a shared property within Skypoint Community Centre, which is the hub of the local community.

There is also a full size cafe which is utilised as our cook school, offering pupils from all ages experiences and accredited qualifications in cooking by a trained chef.

We have have made strong links within the local and wider community and continue to build on these. Skypoint School offers a wide range of programmes and opportunities for our pupils to achieve their goals and potential. Qualified teachers, Subject instructors and Teaching assistants teach Scottish Curriculum for Excellence subjects. We offer Broad General Education, National Qualifications, Achievement Awards, Skills for Work and Work Experience and personalised learning to meet the individual needs of our pupils.

Outdoor learning is a key feature of our school. Through links with Lochgoilhead Outdoor Activity Centre, Ocean Youth Trust, John Muir Award and Duke of Edinburgh Award, our pupils are given the opportunity to take part in residential trips, various new sports and explore new places. These experiences help pupils to take personal responsibility, co-operate with and respect the needs of others; enhance their personal and social communication skills and increase physical health.
