Netherton Farm

Back to Residential Care

Spark of Genius Residential Care for Children and Young People.

A large detached house situated within its own grounds with panoramic views of the surrounding Ayrshire countryside. Originally a working farm, the building itself is spacious and can easily accommodate the five children and young people whom we cater for. Each bedroom is large and decorated partly by the children and young people themselves who are supported to personalise their own living space. Netherton cottage has previously been used for respite and singleton placements. This displays its fluidity and flexibility as a home.

Spark of Genius Residential Care for Children and Young People.

Spark of Genius Residential Care for Children and Young People.Staff are fully committed to offering an environment in which our children and young people can feel safe and secure. We aim to promote positive and ongoing relationships between children, young people and their families, carers and professionals. All parties involved in the young person’s care are encouraged to visit and support the young people who live here.

As is normal in all of our homes education is provided in local Spark of Genius learning centres or mainstream educational settings, according to the needs of the children and young people.

Netherton also benefits from a fully independent, separate cottage across the courtyard from the main house which has it’s own dedicated staff team. The cottage has been used by young people moving on from care towards independent living, a return to fostering, or a return to their own family settings.
