Brandyburn

Back to Residential Care

Residential care for children and young people.

Brandyburn is a homely detached house on the outskirts of Elderslie. Elderslie is a village in the historic county of Renfrewshire in west central Scotland. Brandyburn has recently been renovated to a high standard. It is large and spacious with one downstairs bedroom with a separate bathroom, four bedrooms upstairs, one including an en-suite. We have an open plan kitchen and dining room, 2 lounges and a games room which allow for plenty of space for our young people to chose whether to relax or play. Our large dining room being the hub of the house allows for all young people and staff to eat and socialise together if they wish.

Residential care for children and young people. There are many opportunities for participation in a wide range of recreational and leisure activities in the geographical area surrounding Brandyburn. There are numerous amenities close by including access to shopping, local parks, cafes/restaurants, swimming, bowling, cinema, libraries and leisure centre; these activities are all within a short travelling distance and staff will support young people in their chosen recreational activities. We will also encourage our young people to visit places of interest, to go for nature walks in the local countryside, and to join clubs and groups according to their personal preferences and interests. The Brandyburn staff team will encourage all of our young people to try out new things and to experience new challenges, learning across a 24 hour curriculum, broadening their own expectations and to successfully achieve.

Residential care for children and young people. The village was once the home to Stoddard Carpets which made the carpets for the Cunard liners RMS Queen Mary, RMS Queen Elizabeth and RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 which were built by John Brown & Company in their shipyard in Clydebank. The firm also produced carpets for Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding in Westminster Abbey, the ocean liner RMS Titanic and for the Concorde aircraft. Elderslie is easily accessible and is only 13 miles from Glasgow and 10 miles from the coast.
