Residential care for children and young people.

Easter Hayston, Kirkintilloch.

Easter Hayston is a 5-bedroom house in the outskirts of Kirkintilloch. The location of the house provides the benefits of a peaceful rural location while also having easy access to various amenities in the local area. The young people have access to a large games room, lounge/TV area and a small quiet room as well as their own personalised bedrooms. This offers the young people ample space to participate in in-house activities as well as providing room for time out and quiet reflection.  The house is furnished to a high standard, taking into consideration young people’s choices and views.

There is an extensive front garden with access to football goals, garden games and a vegetable patch. The local area provides access to shops, parks, the gym and leisure centres, local clubs etc and is a short drive to Glasgow.

The team within Easter Hayston are committed to providing each young person with the highest standard of care.  We take a child centred approach, assessing the needs of the child and creating a package of care and education which suits their emotional, educational and behavioural development.  We work closely with consultant psychologist Dr Marie Holmes whose therapeutic approach blends element of play therapy, stress management and CBT to working with young people with experience of trauma and difficulties with emotional regulation. This allow the team to adopt creative approaches and innovative thinking to the development of the young people’s care and education plans.

Each young person has a care plan which reflects a 24 hour curriculum supporting young people to focus not just on education attainment but also self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making.

We are committed to partnership working and work with a range of external agencies such as CAMHS, smoking cessation, Skills Development Scotland, Who Cares? Scotland, Tigers (Mentorship Programme)

Our staff are understanding, helpful and kind and will participate in fun exercises with your child. We go on fun trips like St Andrews Sea Life Centre and a lot more and we can work towards holidays away.

Education is at Skypoint school. Skypoint is not just an education system is it good for social needs. The teachers are understanding and normally will have a close bond to all the pupils if the pupils will let them. This is due the smaller classes it enables the teachers to provide more intensive support.
